Homework Folders
On Mondays, your child will bring home a homework folder with pages that will help them practice their reading, spelling and math skills. Folders should be returned every Friday, including any books sent home by the teacher.
Weekly Spelling
Spelling lists are sent home in homework folders on Monday. The spelling list helps your child practice their new spelling pattern for that week. Spelling tests are held on Fridays. Our 10 word spelling lists are designed to include:
Reading at Home
Most importantly, please try to have your child read 15-20 minutes each night. There are lots of fun ways to do this at home, which include:

- Six words are the vowel pattern of the week
- Two words are review
- Two words are sight words

- Reading to your child
- Your child reads to you or another family member
- Take turns reading pages with your child
- Your child reads on their own
- Let your child choose books out of interest, not always based on reading level
